one of the largest pigeon,they are native to low lands of new guinea.both sexes look alike with bluish grey body with maroon or carmine breast,red iris and unique silky white tipped flower like crest,they can be easily identified with a loud "whoop whoop whoo o o o o o p"like sound.like others their diet is fruit nd grains.beautiful
but their beauty is their foe,they are critically endangered due to over collecting as pets nd hunting for their

heavenly beauty.....
